Do you need to polish after a clay towel?

Yes if you used a clay BAR and haven't decontaminated the paint ever or in a year/years, maybe not if your using a clay TOWEL or weaker clay, but polishing AFTER claying isn't necessary and throwing on a sealant/wax after is fine.

It depends on the condition of your paint. If you’ve removed contaminants effectively with the clay towel and your paint is smooth, polishing might not be necessary. However, if there are light scratches or imperfections, delving into polishing can give you the ultimate shine.

it’s generally a good idea to polish after using a clay towel. Clay towels help remove contaminants from the paint surface, making it smoother. However, using a polish afterward can help restore the shine and clarity of the paint, as it can remove any light imperfections and enhance the overall finish. Just make sure to use a polish that’s appropriate for your vehicle's paint type and condition!
