Auto Finesse Clay Bar Kit

The Auto Finesse Clay Bar Kit is a high-quality, well-regarded product in the car detailing world. It's designed to safely and effectively remove surface contaminants from your vehicle’s paintwork, allowing for a smooth, polished finish before waxing, sealing, or applying ceramic coatings. Here’s an overview of what typically comes in the Auto Finesse Clay Bar Kit and how it’s used:

What's Included in the Auto Finesse Clay Bar Kit:

  1. Auto Finesse Clay Bar:

The clay bar itself is designed to remove bonded contaminants like tree sap, brake dust, tar, and industrial fallout that regular washing cannot remove. The clay bar is soft enough to be used on all types of paint, clear coats, glass, and even plastics, making it versatile for the entire vehicle.
  2. Auto Finesse Glide Clay Bar Lubricant:

This lubricant ensures that the clay bar glides smoothly over the surface without causing scratches or marring. It helps reduce friction, providing a protective layer between the clay and the paintwork, ensuring the process is safe and effective.

How to Use the Auto Finesse Clay Bar Kit:

Step 1: Wash the Vehicle

Before using the clay bar, wash your vehicle thoroughly with a pH-neutral shampoo to remove loose dirt and grime. Rinse and dry the car completely to prepare for the claying process.

Step 2: Prepare the Clay Bar

  • Remove the clay bar from its packaging and knead it into a flat, circular shape. This helps maximize surface area and allows the clay to work more efficiently.
  • If the clay bar is large, you can break it into smaller pieces to avoid contaminating the entire bar.

Step 3: Lubricate the Surface

  • Spray the Auto Finesse Glide Clay Lubricant generously onto a small section of your car’s surface (a panel or a door).
  • Always keep the area well-lubricated to ensure the clay bar doesn’t stick or cause scratches.

Step 4: Use the Clay Bar

  • Gently glide the clay bar over the lubricated area using light pressure in straight lines or back-and-forth motions.
  • As you move the clay, you will feel it start to grab onto contaminants. Once the area feels smooth, you know the contaminants have been removed.
  • Continue this process on each section of the car, making sure to fold and knead the clay to a clean area when it gets dirty.

Step 5: Wipe Off Residue

  • After claying a section, use a clean microfiber towel to wipe off any remaining clay lubricant and inspect the surface.
  • The surface should feel smooth and free of bonded contaminants. If you still feel roughness, repeat the claying process.

Step 6: Final Wipe or Rinse

  • Once the entire vehicle has been clayed, you can either rinse the car to remove any residue or use a microfiber towel to dry and clean up the remaining lubricant.

Step 7: Seal, Wax, or Coat

  • Now that the surface is contaminant-free, it’s the perfect time to apply a wax, sealant, or ceramic coating to protect the finish and enhance gloss.

Liberally wet the area with Glide Clay Lube. Gently rub the clay across the surface in linear strokes. After each section fold the dirty sides together and flatten back to a disk. Buff away Glide residue and repeat on the next section.

The Auto Finesse® Detailing Clay Bar comes as a 200g block and is made from an ultra-fine grade of natural Kaolin clay. This structure allows it to be both more effective against contamination, and less abrasive on sensitive paintwork than common polymer clays. It will efficiently remove both organic contamination (tree sap, mineral deposits from rainwater, protein deposits from insects and bird droppings,) and inorganic contamination (light tar and iron deposits, industrial pollution, paint overspray, etc.) on practically any hard surface.

The Auto Finesse® Glide clay bar lubricant has been designed to make clay barring your car much easier and efficient. Its special blend of slip agents help to encapsulate debris released during the claying process, and allow the Detailing Clay Bar to slide across the surface of the vehicle with ease. This greatly reduces the chance of marring.
